Somerset Surgery is 10 years old!
This year marks Somerset Surgery’s 10th anniversary! To celebrate, we hosted a wonderful event on 17th September at one of our favourite venues – Laurent at Lourensford Estate in Somerset West.
Centred on the theme “We do surgery beautifully”, the occasion commemorated a decade of Somerset Surgery’s existence, of work done in the field of day case surgery, including plastic surgery, ophthalmology, urology, dentistry, general and orthopaedic surgery. Without a doubt, it’s the kind of milestone that could not be celebrated without all the people who have shared the journey with us, from the day we first opened our doors. Industry friends, staff, supporting doctors and near and dear ones were our special guests for the night.
The evening took the form of a cocktail-style function, complete with roaming canapes and curry food stations for guests to explore and indulge in. Live entertainment in the form of swing band, The Fizz, set the tone with sounds both soulful and upbeat – creating a relaxed and festive atmosphere.
But the best was yet to come: Dr Jonathan Toogood surprised us all with his own soulful performance. Singing two songs – “Just the way you are” by Billy Joel and Michael Bublé’s version of “Feeling Good” – he left guests with a little something extra to remember about a magical night.
