Dr Toogood is the owner and founder of Somerset Surgery. He has a broad scope of surgical interests, in particular breast reconstructive surgery, aesthetic surgery and laser skin rejuvenation. He was awarded the Trubshaw Medal for the top result in South Africa for the Surgical Primary exam. On completion of his specialisation, he received a six-month fellowship with Prof Daniel Marchac – the world-renowned craniofacial and aesthetic surgeon in Paris, France. He has been in private practice since 2006.

We are very fortunate to have Dr Winkler as part of our plastic surgery team. She is one of a handful of female plastic surgeons practicing in South Africa, which gives her a unique understanding of women’s health and the female body. Since her undergraduate training – which included a lengthy tenure in a multi-disciplinary intensive care unit – she’s had a passion for plastic and reconstructive surgery. She specialises in cosmetic surgical procedures, such as breast augmentation, breast lifts, breast reductions, tummy tucks, liposuction and facial surgery. She also performs non-surgical procedures like Botox and fillers.
DR JAN KLEYNHANS

Dr Kleynhans has extensive experience in aesthetic surgery and a wide range of reconstructive surgery disciplines. He has been in private practice since 1988. He is well known in the field for his commitment to excellence in standards of surgical care, patient safety, confidentiality and ethics in medicine. Following two years as a plastic surgery consultant at Tygerberg hospital in Cape Town – and a six-month study tour to major plastic surgery centres in the USA, Canada and Europe – he settled in private practice in Pietermaritzburg, to pursue his interest in craniofacial surgery. Hereafter he concentrated on aesthetic surgery, breast reconstruction and general reconstructive plastic surgery. In 1997, the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International awarded him the Paul Harris fellowship in recognition for his service to the community in the craniofacial field. He relocated to Somerset West in 2010.

DR MEGAN COLE
MBChB (WITS),DO, FCS (SA) Ophth
Main Interests are ocular medical conditions as well as Botox therapy. Extensively involved in community service. Principal consultant ophthalmologist, Helderberg Hospital, Somerset West. Performs approximately 25 cataract operations a month as a service to the community and runs the hospital eye clinics.
DR MPOPI LENAKE
MBChB, FCOphth(SA), MMed Ophth
Dr Lenake obtained her medical degree from Stellenbosch University in 2005. She undertook her Ophthalmology training at the University of Cape Town and Groote Schuur Hospital from 2009 to 2013. In 2012, she was the recipient of the Justin Van Selm medal, which is awarded to outstanding candidates in the fellowship examination of the College of Ophthalmologists of South Africa. She was also awarded her MMed degree with distinction from the University of Cape Town in 2013. She completed the Orbital, Plastic and Lacrimal fellowship at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne, Australia between February 2015 and January 2016. Apart from treating all general eye disorders, Dr Lenake has a special interest in the area of eyelid, lacrimal and orbital surgery. This includes common eyelid malpositions such as ectropion, entropion, ptosis (droopy eyelid), excessive eyelid skin and cosmetic surgery. She performs surgical treatment of skin lesions and skin cancers around the eyelids. She also offers endoscopic (scarless surgery via the nose) lacrimal surgery for patients suffering from blocked nasolacrimal tear ducts.
DR PAUL R KEET

Dr Keet graduated from the University of Pretoria in 1987. He specialised as an ophthalmologist at the University of Cape Town and Groote Schuur Hospital in 1996 and also passed the fellowship exam of The Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in the same year. He then spent a year in Dublin where he undertook a cataract and refractive surgery fellowship. He started working in private practice in Somerset West on his return from Ireland in 1997. In 1998, he set up an eye service for indigent patients at Helderberg Hospital and remains a consultant ophthalmologist there. He is presently a member of the South African Society of Ophthalmology, the Glaucoma Society of SA as well as the South African Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
DR ANTON VAN BILJON
MBChB (Pret), MMed (Ophth)
Qualified from the Medical University of South Africa as an ophthalmologist in 1994, and has been in private practice since then. A general ophthalmologist with a keen interest in anterior segment surgery. Involved in cataract outreach programmes to reduce the burden of preventable blindness in South Africa. A member of the Ophthalmological Society as well as Glaucoma Society of South Africa.
