5 things to know before getting a facelift

Plan your facelift carefully to ensure your body has sufficient time to rest and recover. A good support system at home is also recommended.

Expect swelling and bruising following the procedure. This will gradually subside over 2 to 3 weeks. For a more rapid recovery, visit MASC Laser Clinic for an Omnilux Revive Light treatment.

Stop smoking at least three months before your surgery. Smoking delays wound healing and increases your risk of infection.

If you are taking blood thinners or anti-inflammatory medication, it should be stopped two weeks prior to your surgery. The medication can increase your risk of bleeding intra-operatively. Discuss this with your surgeon or physician before you discontinue your medication.

Prepare your skin pre–operatively by using CE Ferulic from SkinCeuticals, available at MASC Laser Clinic. A powerful antioxidant, it accelerates healing after injury or damage. It also increases the skin’s firmness and density.
